How long have you been shooting weddings?
2017 will be my 10th wedding season. Last year I passed the 150 wedding mark.
How many images will we get?
Good question! Much depends on the length of your day, how many events, size of your family & wedding party and in general just how many awesome things happen. The majority of my clients are receving 500-700 images allowing for some black and white conversions. My emphasis is on quality, not quantity images of course but I do want you to see a full day.
Can we have every image you shoot?
Short answer, no. Long answer, for the sake of your self- esteem and sanity, no. Do you really want to weed through the bizarre in between faces, eyes-closed, sneezes, open mouth, duplicate, me getting my lighting right shots? You really don't. And I really don't want people thinking that's representative of my best work. Remember that Beyonce Meme? Yeah, you look like that sometimes. It's my burden to know that haha!
What would you say is most important to you on a wedding day in terms of shooting?
My prime motivation and what I really love about wedding photography is moments. Without a doubt my couples book me to capture candid, authentic images. I also strongly believe that Family and Couple portraits are an important part of your wedding collection. I do my very best to keep portraits light and fun and, above all, not stiff and tedious. Lastly, I truly enjoy shooting details. It's a time that I can be creative with styling and I feel like the details set the scene of your day.
Do you have a formal education?
Yes, I graduated with Honours from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design in Photography.
How far in advance should we book?
If you're getting married on a Saturday during prime wedding season I'd recommend inquiring as soon as you have a date fixed. Popular wedding dates tend to book anywhere from 18-8 months out. Please feel free to check my Available Dates page to see if your date is booked.
Do we get Printing Rights with our images?
Yes, all my packages include printing rights.
Do you travel for weddings?
About half of my weddings each year are outside of the Fredericton area. It makes a nice change to shoot in new locations.
Does it matter if you've never shot at my location before?
Not at all. Photography is about light and people. Backgrounds are very easy to manage! One of the great things about being an experienced wedding photographer is being able to assess and work with any location and lighting situation. New and novel locations are actually much simpler to shoot than the challenge of making the same location look fresh.
Does it matter that you've shot at my location 235635 times?
Nope. I'll turn myself inside out to find a unique take on it!
